How do I know if my arm is overworked and needs rest?Updated 2 months ago

The ArmCare App signals overwork through:

  • Watch, Warning, & Medical Alerts: A watch alert suggests a 30% reduction in workload, while a warning or medical alert suggests full rest and retesting before resuming normal throwing.

  • Fresh Exam vs. Post Exam Changes: If strength scores drop significantly post-throw, the athlete is not recovering well.  If recovery remains consistently low over multiple throwing sessions, it’s a sign of overuse and adjustments to workloads are necessary..

  • Subjective Scores (Athlete’s Self-Assessment): If an athlete feels pain, stiffness, or sluggishness despite normal strength numbers, they may still be overworked.  Complete the Prep for the day and gauge how the athlete responds.

  • Pitch Count Adjustments: If an athlete’s post-bullpen test shows fatigue, their individualized pitch counts will be lowered.
